My wife thinks i’m crazy, but it’s my dream to one day play that kit. This is my favorite drum kit, I wish Ludwig (PLEASE PLEASE LUDWIG) would put out a late night edition classic maple kit. i’d be the first in line!

i will tell you what, i come from a family that has 'ties' to the music / entertainment industry, and i started drumming as a youth in the mid 1970s (my father says i started drumming at '3 years old' on my absurd little kids drums, which i have photos of, but i think the actual drumming started realistically on the werco branded likely pearls with zildjian cymbals and cb700 hats whenever he acquired that set in the mid 70s or so. regardless, by the mid 1980s as a minor, i was having band job offers from 'adult' males gigging regularly to join them. that could have as well been so they could benefit from a radio programmer father and all his major media corporation connections, so lets not worry about my 'skills', which i maintain were more than worthy of 'professional' status, whatever that actually truly means. in any case, i bought this drum set, 2 of them actually, one sparkle silver the other black, and liked playing them (mostly daily in the cold, through all seasons including winter in the pacific northwest, in parks and street corners / sidewalks) until being so harassed by the locals townspeople over who owns what and who has claims to my life, creativity, and future, and a continuation of invasive and violating circumstances including constant references to (entrepeneurials such as) questlove, quincy jones, pharrell williams, jay z, beyonce, rihanna, puff sean combs, kanye, and others, but mostly jay z / beyonce / questlove, during times of continued intrusion and harassment that ultimately resulted in 2 instances of suspected sexual assaults while unconscious, for which are police reports made and forensic nurse examinations sent to labs, but in my personal opinion not thoroughly evaluated or processes, and years of continued sexual and other harassments and abuses, intimidation, coercion, etc, by males of course (and i am male who has ever only been attracted to or involved with females), as well as efforts to sex traffic and otherwise hustle and violate, after (the assaults were the week of, mere days after disposal), but all else was before, during, and after) disposing of what in my opinion were nothing more than disposable chinese made drums branded by ludwig and questlove. i wish i had purchased (and even if those drums were 'given' to me as promotional tools, how much would my playing them daily, in public, tuned with good new heads, and played as well as possible, for over a year be worth, even for an 'amateur' drummer?) the pearl drums i nearly bought beforehand (or tamas, or at the very least any given generic amazon sold chinese brand likely made in the same or similar factories), at least somewhat trying to steer clear of this demographic, of which i never identified or associated, and am not a fan of) which also somehow was assumed that what i played and did with these drums was property of the 'urban'(including and especially the hip hop / rap people) and black, latino, asian, whatever other '4' demographic that seems to be associated with the above listed celebrities. the harassment has continued to this very day, including automobile damage, theft, and intimidation / other various behaviors, as well as hacked, violated, and compromised phone, computer, digital devices (including any of my music / recording devices and apps, which have as well had nearly anything creative / musical that i have done since approximately 2013, tampered with, stolen, damaged, or deleted).

Ludwig is lacking. You buy anything Yamaha at the same price point the quality is thru the roof on the Yamaha. I mean I bought the diamond of all snare drums which was a Ludwig Black Beauty and the cheap crap it came with was almost laughable. The Yamaha Recording Brass Drum beats it completely out of the park and is at a lower price point even. I didn't upgrade a thing on that Yamaha brass snare but the Ludwig, I spent money upgrading many parts on it.

I love and play Ludwig. A few years ago I bought the Supralite 8"x 14" new for $199. It is now my main snare. Keep hit'n them Daxx...😊

I recently bought the hi hat stand to replace my other one that i broke the plastic cradle on (it was a stand that came with the kit i bought) and for something that was almost as light as air it feels just as sturdy as a double braced.

Just got the classic hat stand to replace my now broken Ludwig double braced hat stand. OH MY GOD it is so durable. It carries light but it handles like a double braced stand. Best if both worlds.
